Our beginnings came out of the real estate crash of 2008. A group of real estate and construction senior executives that were suddenly unemployed began offering outsourced services on an as needed basis to other firms who were fighting for their lives. The deal was pretty good for both sides. The companies picked up top talent on an as needed basis, and lowered their costs. The "downsized" executives were able to piece together enough work with several clients to keep their households going. The demand in today's market comes from the rapid growth and many firms are just not ready to make the commitment in to full time senior executive compensation.
